Our First Rhinebeck

We attended our first Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck last weekend. We were warned that it was a little overwhelming, and that was an understatement! Despite long travel, canceled flights, and missed trains, here’s why it was worth it.

(1) You guys. By far, the best part for us was meeting a lot of our followers, some of whom we’d never met in person before. Is it funny that it felt like a reunion, like seeing a long-time friend with whom you just pick up as if no time has passed? And even though many of you couldn’t attend, it still felt like you were with us, commenting and encouraging us in our Instagram feed.

(2) Market feedback. People who build great products do it by talking to people, by showing design ideas and asking for input. It was so cool to show our current alpha version of the app to so many people, and to hear audible gasps in reply. There’s nothing more encouraging than people who are excited by what you’re building.

(3) Winning a prize from Kristy Glass Knits’ “Tell me about your Rhinebeck sweater.” Also, a Nobel prize. :) For those who didn’t see, Alison’s amazing 1941 Foxy Fly dress in Little Fox Yarn’s Vixen Vargo made it into the Kristy Glass Knits video, around the 27 minute mark! We’ll post a little clip to our Instagram in case you missed it.

We’re delighted to play a part in using technology to evolve knitting patterns. We think there’s so much room for improvement to make knitting easier and more fun, and we wouldn’t be here without you guys cheering us on and supporting us. So thanks for being awesome!
