With a Cable Needle
Right Handed: 0:00
Left-Handed (mirror knitting) Video: 0:23
The first video shows how to work the 2/2 LPC using a cable needle. For left-leaning cables, always hold the cable needle to the front. The second video shows how to work a 2/2 left purl cable by rearranging the stitches on the needle without a cable needle. For left leaning cables without a cable needle, always slip the stitches through the back loops.
Instructions: Slip 2 stitches purlwise to the cable needle and hold to the front, purl the next 2 stitches, k2 from the cable needle.
Without a Cable Needle
Right Handed Video: 0:00
Left Handed (mirror knitting) Video: 0:41
Summary: This video shows how to work a 2/2 left cable (in this case a left purl cable) by rearranging the stitches on the needle without a cable needle. For left-leaning cables, always slip through the back loops. (For right-leaning cables, always slip through the front loops of stitches.)
Instructions: Slip the next 4 stitches together as if to purl through the back loops (tbl). Transfer 2 stitches together tbl back to the holding needle, untwisting them. Transfer the next 2 stitches together tbl back to the holding needle, untwisting them. Work the cable, in this case p2, k2. (For a 2/2 LC, you would simply knit 4.)
